Olympic Maths
Over the next week the children will participate in small
groups a range of Olympic sporting events. In their teams they will have to
measure distance and time, present their data and use a variety of enquiry
skills. Task 1 - Push the Ball Comment below and share with others what we had to do and what we found out. |
We had to hold the ball in both hands and push it from our chest, this is known as a chest pass. Another member of the group would then have to measure how far the ball went with a meter stick. They would measure up to were the ball first made contact with the floor, this would be our score!
ReplyDeleteWe had to hold the ball in are hands and push the ball from the chest and are feet had to be behind the line. Then you measure using a measuring stick from the line to where the ball first touched the ground and that would be your score!
ReplyDeleteWe got into groups and one member of the group, stood behind a line in the hall and chest passed the ball. Another member of the group then marked where the ball first touched the ground with a cone. We then used a meter stick to measure from the line to the cone. This measurement was then recorded on a whiteboard as our groups scores.
